Instructions
for Clan MacTavish Commissioners/Conveners/Representatives
--
Clan Tent Resources, Working Aids, and Printed
Display Items --
The
purpose of this section is to provide Commissioners
and Conveners with accepted HISTORICAL AND
PRINTED resources, or Working Aids for CMI
umbrella organizational members. All Documents
pictures, photographs, images, etc… herein
are considered the property of CMI, unless
otherwise noted.
The
name “Clan MacTavish” and its symbols:
Crest Badge, Motto, and Armorial Bearings of
the Chief of Clan MacTavish are TRADEMARKS (™)
of Clan MacTavish International (CMI) and authorized
for use by its related organizations as noted
above.
To
maintain continuity at Scottish or Celtic events,
no other items, except those contained herein
are authorized at booths or tents manned by
any of the above organizational members or
representatives.
If
you, as a CMI, CMC, or CMU Commissioner or
Convener or other authorized representative,
are using unauthorized items, please cease
this practice. Should Commissioners of Convenors
have documents, books or other display items,
that are not authorized, they should remove
them from their tents displays, unless approved
by the National Commissioner (by nation), with
the sanction of the Chief of Clan MacTavish.
If
you are currently using a Book or Printed
Text not currently authorized for
display (that is not in this resource section),
and if it is historically accurate, you may submit
it for approval. All printed material
for which approval is sought, must
be submitted and approved by the National
Commissioner (by nation), with the
sanction of the Chief of Clan MacTavish. Both
must agree for an item to be authorized. From
time-to-time such items may be included in
this resource area. Decorative items that enhance
the tents appearance are of course up to the
individual Commissioner or Convener. Items
such as the flags of the various Nations, or
backdrops (celtic throws) for the tent or booth,
a displayed photo of the Chief and his wife,
are always acceptable items.
This
resource area, deals with the use of printed
and/or historical writing or items, and
not Clan tent/booth accoutrements or decorative
items. Such materials and items might be: thistle
or heather spays, open dish of MacTavish butterscotch
candies, samples of MacTavish tartans, chairs
for visiting, bottles of water for visitors,
guest book for future follow-up, stuffed toy
Westie (clan dog) in tartan.
Items
designated for display in three ring binders
may be displayed out of the binders. It
is recommended that such items be laminated
in order to protect them from rain, stain,
spills, and tearing.
The
accumulation of resources presented here for
display as historic aids to Commissioners and
Conveners has taken eight years of research,
giving a broad yet accurate portrayal
of the Clan MacTavish.
If
an item you are using at your tent or booth does
not deal DIRECTLY with Clan MacTavish, or if
that item does not reflect the true nature and
history of Clan MacTavish it is not authorized,
and will not be authorized in the future. |
